How we help

Federal law is on your side. We make it work for you.

The Fair Credit Reporting Act and Fair Debt Collection Practices Act give consumers real power — including the right to make the other side pay your attorney’s fees. Here’s where we focus.

Credit Report Errors

Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA)

Inaccurate, mixed, or fraudulent information on your credit report can cost you loans, housing, and jobs. We force the bureaus and furnishers to fix it — and hold them accountable when they don't.

Learn more

Debt Collector Harassment

Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA)

Collectors who call relentlessly, threaten, or lie are breaking federal law. The FDCPA may entitle you to damages — and our fees can come from the collector, not you.

Summons & Complaint Defense

Debt-collection lawsuits

Served with a lawsuit by a creditor or debt buyer? Don't ignore it. We defend consumers against collection suits and make the other side prove their case.

Learn more

Warrant in Debt Defense

Virginia General District Court

A Warrant in Debt is the most common collection lawsuit in Virginia. We defend you in General District Court and protect you from default judgments and garnishment.

Learn more

Wage Garnishment Defense

Virginia & federal garnishment law

A garnishment can take part of every paycheck before it reaches you. We move to stop or reduce it, protect your exemptions, and attack the judgment behind it when there are grounds.

Learn more

Identity Theft Recovery

FCRA & Virginia identity-theft law

Someone opened accounts in your name, and now you’re the one being chased. We help victims block fraudulent accounts, clean up their credit, and recover damages from those who got it wrong.

Learn more

Mixed & Merged Credit Files

Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA)

When a bureau blends your file with a stranger’s, their debts and defaults become your problem. We force the bureaus to untangle the file and answer for the damage it caused.

Debt Relief & Bankruptcy Alternatives

Debt-settlement & bankruptcy counseling

Bankruptcy isn’t the only path, and it isn’t always the best one. We look at the whole picture — defenses, settlements, and bankruptcy — and tell you honestly which one actually helps.

What working with us looks like

1

Tell us what happened

Call or send a confidential message describing your credit problem, the collector, or the lawsuit you were served with. The initial case review is free.

2

We assess your rights

We review your documents and credit reports and explain, in plain English, whether the FCRA, the FDCPA, or a defense to the lawsuit applies to your situation.

3

We take on the fight

If we accept your case, we deal with the bureaus, collectors, and courts — and in cases we take on that basis, you owe no attorney’s fee unless we recover.

“I contacted the attorney today and I must say I was very impressed. One writer referred to him as a pit bull. I felt that in the telephone conversation I had with him today. I am confident that this gentleman is the right attorney for the job. Highly recommend.”

Common questions

Good to know before you call

In cases the firm accepts on that basis, you don’t pay attorney’s fees unless we recover for you. Many consumer-protection statutes also require the violator to pay your attorney’s fees when your claim succeeds. We’ll explain exactly how fees and costs work for your situation during your case review.
Deadlines in Virginia collection cases can be short, and ignoring a Warrant in Debt or Complaint can lead to a default judgment and garnishment. Contact us as soon as possible so we can review the paperwork and your options before the return date.
Often, yes. If you’ve disputed an inaccuracy and it wasn’t fixed — or your file has been mixed with someone else’s, or contains accounts from identity theft — the Fair Credit Reporting Act may give you a claim against the bureaus and the companies reporting the bad information.
